Gomel Oblast to cooperate with Italy’s sports center Libertas

GOMEL, 20 April (BelTA) – The Gomel Oblast Executive Committee and the national sports center Libertas (Italy) have signed a protocol of intentions in Gomel on 20 April. The protocol envisages cooperation in physical education and sport, BelTA learnt from Chief Advisor to the Gomel Oblast Governor Marina Filonova.
The Italian delegation that included Libertas representatives is in Gomel Oblast for a visit on 19-21 April. The delegation is set to tour sports facilities of Gomel, Mozyr and Kalinkovichi and children’s sports schools.
The cooperation in physical education and sport will be maintained via regional structures of the center in Tuscany with which Gomel Oblast has established close humanitarian ties, in particular, in recuperation of children from the Chernobyl-affected areas. Italy is going to cover all the expenses related to the participation of children’s and junior teams from Belarus in competitions that will be held in Tuscany and to finance the trips of Italian teams to Gomel Oblast.
The work has already started. A while ago Italy welcomed a rhythmic gymnastics team from Gomel Oblast. In a couple of days young fencers from Gomel Oblast will leave for Italy, in May-June basketball players will go there. Italy might take part in the construction of a rhythmic gymnastics school in Gomel.

GOMEL, 10 April (BelTA) ? The international ice hockey tournament to

Alexei Kostyuchenko will take place in Gomel on 16-19 April, BelTA learnt
from the Gomel City Hall.
