Belarusian steel mill exploring new markets in Western Africa
GOMEL, 28 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian steel mill BMZ is expanding the geography of its export, BelTA learned from the company’s Press Secretary Alexander Olesik.
This year the company has added two countries to the list of Belarusian metal export destinations. BMZ has shipped a number of products made by its rolling mills to Benin and Togo.
In January-August BMZ products were exported to 51 countries. The largest importers were Russia, Netherlands, Germany, Israel, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, Egypt, Italy, and the USA. In this period BMZ shipped over 1.2 million tonnes of merchandise abroad, over 85% of the total output.
In monetary terms BMZ export totaled 129.5% as against the same period of last year.
Established in 1984, BMZ is the managing company of the holding company Belarusian Metallurgical Company. BMZ produces cast sections, long and rolled products, reinforcing bars, pipes, metal cord, high pressure wire, and other sorts of wire.
